Quick Descriptions of
Touch Screen Features
At installation, two icons are
created to your desktop. The most important one is the Touch Panel.
If you have the USB controller, the Touch Panel is located in the
TouchUSB icon. If you have the ProE controller, the Touch Panel is
located in the Touch232 icon. The other icon is called either
SwapLR or SwapButton (depending on your OS version).

TOUCH PANEL:
Mouse Speed
– This controls how often the controller checks to see if the mouse cursor
has moved in response to a touch on the touch screen. Usually, this is best
set between midpoint and fast.
Double-click Speed
– This controls how the controller identifies
a double-click, or double-tap, on the touch screen. Usually, this is best
set at slow.
Open/Close
image box
– This box allows you to practice your
double-tapping. Perform a double-tap in the image, and if the touch screen
recognizes it as a double-click, the image changes (from Open to Close or
vice versa). Change the Mouse speed and Double-click speed settings as
needed until you find the best combination for you.
Swap Left/Right
– This controls which mouse button the touch
screen is currently emulating. By default, this box should be unchecked,
meaning the touch screen is performing a left mouse button click. By
checking the box, the touch screen will perform a right mouse button click
whenever the screen is touched.
LIFT OFF
mode
– Lift off
mode allows the touch screen to interact with Java-based mouse-over
functions, typically seen on websites. When Lift off mode is selected (box
is checked), the touch screen loses the capability to perform drag
operations.
Touch Beep
– When checked, the computer will make a
machine beep whenever the touch screen is first touched. i.e., The beep will
occur when the finger/stylus first makes contact with the touch
screen.
UnTouch Beep
– When checked, the computer will make a
machine beep whenever the touch screen stops being touched. i.e., The beep
will occur when the finger/stylus ceases contact with the touch screen.
Move Only
– When checked, the touch screen moves in
response to touch per normal, but cannot perform clicks.
Only on Windows 2000/XP
version for USB.
Calibration
– Press this button to enter the calibration
test. See next Utility for
calibration instructions.

UTILITY:
Swap Icon
Like the Swap Left/Right
checkbox in the Touch Panel, the Swap utility allows you to change which
mouse button is currently being emulated by the touch screen. When running,
the Swap utility opens a small window which displays the current selection
(by default, ‘Left Button’). When touched or clicked, the display changes,
and the touch screen will perform the displayed button assignment until
touched/clicked again.
Calibration
When entered, the calibration
test will show a gray screen with the words ‘Touch Screen Calibration’ in
the upper-left quadrant, a ‘set default’ button near the center, and a
‘cancel’ button in the lower-right corner. Calibration is performed by
touching the crosshairs as they appear in the following locations:
lower-left corner, middle of the screen, and upper-right corner. Touch each
location only once, and only touch the crosshair locations. Helpful
troubleshooting hints can be found at the top of this guide.
